It was now midnight and her brain ran wild. Their hotel room was dark, he liked the lights moody, she preferred everything to look more cheery. She preferred him to look a little more cheery too.

He got up and walked towards the window and opened it with one hand while holding his cigarette in the other. At least he respected her choice of not smoking constantly.
